The Old Bookshop is a specialist book business supplying secondhand and out of print books and magazines.
The business was established by Felicity Warnes in 1980, to provide books on Costume, Fashion, Accessories, Jewellery, Beading, Embroidery, Textiles, Knitting and Lace. This online list only contains a small selection of books, as The Old Bookshop is home to a more expansive stock of around 20,000 volumes.
The shop is open most days, although you will need to phone to make sure that Felicity is available.

Because of the extremely specialist nature of the books, the clients of The Old Bookshop range from high-profile fashion designers, to those with a part-time interest in the subjects, to universities requesting books for their art/fashion courses.

There is also a quarterly Catalogue, containing a small selection of stock; around 300 or so books. Many of the magazines and other publications in stock at the shop are never listed on the Catalogue or on the web pages, since they are often difficult to describe and generally are best viewed in person. Samples of the stock are taken to a variety of fairs and events around the UK each year, and some are listed here, although it is best to make contact with Felicity for details of forthcoming events in your area.
